Day Four: Venturing Up to the Ceiling of North America

Day Five was a short drive South to Talkeetna, AK.  We made some stops along the way.

He he :)

Camille's awesome fashion sense.

Interesting sign we came across at a rest stop.

Once in Talkeena, we arrived at the Swiss Alaska Inn.  This was one of our favorite places we stayed due to it's homey and cozy feel.  This "retreat center", as we began to refer to it, is family run and includes a restaurant that serves German/Swedish home cooked meals.  The icing on the cake were all the scripture verses posted over the doorways.  So cool!  We give this place two thumbs up.

When we were researching things to do in Alaska, everyone was saying how amazing the flightseeing tours are there.  After we settled into the Swiss Alaska Inn, we headed out to our Air Taxi!

Cool Gore-tex boots they gave us to wear

We took literally hundreds of pictures on this flight, so I tried to choose the best of the best (so hard!).  All we have to say about these pictures is...wow.

From Left to Right: Mt. Hunter/Begguya (Denali's child), Mt. Foraker/Menlale (Denali's wife), and Denali Himself

Oh yes we did land on a glacier!

I spy a hiker...can you find him?

There's a cabin and an outhouse up there!
